Job Description: Manager, Global Licensed Merchandise

Location: San Diego, CA / Hybrid

We are seeking an experienced licensing expert with a robust background in North American licensee and retailer relations, particularly within softlines and specialty retail channels. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record of revenue growth and the development of culturally relevant programs with partners.

Key responsibilities include managing and developing key licensee and retailer relationships, negotiating contracts, identifying high-value brand collaborations, and supporting merchandise plans aligned with games marketing priorities. The successful candidate will be analytical, proactive, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.


  • Own, manage, and develop key licensees and retailers to support the PlayStation brand and 1st party game IP.
  • Negotiate contracts in partnership with legal teams.
  • Identify and implement brand collaborations to elevate brand perception.
  • Collaborate with studios to develop merchandise plans aligned with marketing priorities.
  • Establish a strong network across various SIE business units.
  • Deliver revenue growth in line with short, medium, and long-term plans.
  • Provide forecasts, performance reports, and financial updates.


  • Demonstrated success in leading strong licensee and retailer relationships resulting in sales growth.
  • Proficiency in business planning, forecasting, and trend analysis.
  • Strong commercial acumen and revenue growth experience.
  • Extensive relationships with softlines licensees and specialty retailers.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Collaborative, relationship-builder with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, and outcome-focused.
  • Creative problem-solver with a passion for innovation.

Compensation and Benefits:

The estimated base pay range for this role is $142,500—$213,700 USD. The actual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, experience, and location. Additionally, this role is eligible for SIE’s top-tier benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, matching 401(k), paid time off, wellness programs, employee discounts for Sony products, and potential bonus packages.
